The Veteran's outreach center contacted us regarding a desert storm combat vet that has had some real financial bad luck and is needing help to pay for the bankruptcy process. She was vetted and I was able to speak with her for a great deal of time. Her situation is one that needs help, she was grateful and wants to also help in the veteran community. The CVR helped with $200 and also referred her to other resources to get help.
A vet was referred to us that was in California and was in a car accident. The automotive bills set him back enough that he had no money to get back here to Spokane. We helped him with $150 for a plane ticket to be able to get back.
The Arc of Spokane referred a vet to us that had fallen behind in his rent due to having to take off work and go have surgery done at the VA in Portland. He was only behind $300 to get everything back up to speed. The CVR contributed $200 and Theresa gave $100 to the cause.
Kim Cole had a Navy recruiter that has recently gone through a divorce and needed help with car insurance. The CVR helped with $168.51
A vet was referred to us that had been in several tours in combat and had gotten cancer from the burn pits. The government overpaid him while on his tours and are now taking money from his disabilty causing a financial struggle while he's undergoing ongoing procedures while having to stay in the hospital. His story has been aired on the news and his story checks out. At the last full patch member's meeting it was decided to help with $500 and one of our members handed over a $100 bill to help.
